UK Status
Resident. A widespread but local species found in
England, the far north as far north as Cumbria and in Wales.
Montgomeryshire Status
First recorded in 2013 at Middletown in the east of the county. This is only the fourth record of this local species in north Wales. Since then there have been several further records also coming from the east of the county.

Habitat
Woodland, hedgerows and gardens.
Foodplant
Field maple and sycamore.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva first produces narrow
mine which leads to a blotch, later it feeds within rolled
leaves often forming a cone. Pupates in a cocoon
attached to either side of the leaf. |
